The Girl Who Went to the Supermarket

Her eyes ran through the variety of yogurts and other milk-based food. She thought of buying Dutch Lady brand but changed her mind when she read the nutrition facts. Marigold brand contained more calcium. She's short, so do the math. Then, she went to look for some fresh milk. She came across cartons of 1-litre fresh milk. After thinking twice, she grabbed a packet of six 250 ml strawberry flavoured milk instead of a carton of 1-litre milk.

She had taken what she wanted, so she went to look for her mother. Not long after that, she was facing the back of a woman wearing purple-coloured scarf. Smiling to herself, she tailed the woman and spoke to her. Well, actually she was more like talking to herself. "Hurmm.. Now where can I find some biscuits.." The woman didn't respond. "If I buy some biscuits, then I can eat them for..." Her speech was stopped abruptly when the woman turned to her. The only word that she could think of was, 'shit'.

Then only she took a good look at that woman's face. She wasn't her mother. Her jaw dropped and her eyes were wide open. She stood there, stupefied and speechless. No muscle were moved. She felt like banging her head to the wall when she thought of her stupidity. "Ohh, sorry I thought you were my mother." The woman scrutinized the girl with her pair of haggard eyes and replied, "I see. No wonder you were tailing me." With a final glance, the woman left her and continued her shopping.

Great. She must think that I'm a freak, the girl thought. But the thing was, the girl was a freak, a weirdo or whatever you call. Even her sister calls her a loser. It's better to be regarded as a freak rather than an insane girl it. Imagine if she just kept her mouth shut when the woman turned to her. She would think that the girl is talking to herself, which is something that people with a healthy mind wouldn't do.

Trying to erase the memory of what had happened, she walked with her head held high and went to look for her real mother like any other ordinary girl who goes shopping for groceries at a supermarket.

Still in Raya Spirits :D

Assalamualaikum.

God. Finally I find the right time to update. Phew.

So many things had happened lately. In such a short period. If the time wills it, I'll write about them chronologically. Hihii. Now I wanna story story about my Raya :D I hope it's not too late. We're still in Raya spirits aren't we? xD

Well, my Raya was how it usually is. The difference is, for the first time ever, I went beraya to my friend's house. Hikhik. Back then at ZS , my friends were all KB people. Ambo ore kampung jah, dok wokah bharu. Now that I'm at Naim, I have friends who live around my neighbourhood. But I still need someone who's willing to send and fetch me if I want to go beray-ing at their houses. And there's no solution for that. Sigh. Thanks to Facebook, now I have a friend who lives a few blocks away from my house, literally. So I can go to her house on foot! Weee~

Raya Day 1

After performing Solat Sunat Aidilfitri at the mosque, we went to Tokwe's house across the road. Beraya-ed with cousins, uncles and aunts. Then, we hopped in the car and went to Nda Jah's house. After everyone was ready, we convoyed to Istana Negeri.

Everyone at Nda Jah's residence :D

Yeah, we were pink ladies that day. Coincidentally. Ngee~ Atiq and Awah weren't there. Sore dok seberey laut, sore lagi gi Rayo rumoh tok llaki. Huhu. And by the way, that's Atiq's kebaya I'm wearing. It looks like it was specially made for me kan? :D

With Mama and Ayahnda. Now Opie is missing. Jjupo saing doh etek. Aigoo Mama bakpo tok senyum nyoh.. *slaps forehead*

After we're done at the palace, we went beraya-ing at our relatives' houses :)

At night, Nda Ji's and Che Num's family came to our house. Lepah semo ore balik, we went to Tokwe's house to set up fireworks! Well, actually it was Hero Remaja aka Farid who did it. Not us. Hehe.

So pretty right? It was far far more prettier if you had seen the whole thing. Thanks to Che Num's sons, we finally experienced setting up fireworks by ourselves. Naik samo tinggi nga pokok nyo bak kato tauke keda jual bungo api nih. And he was right. The fireworks did raise until it was at the same height as Tok Ayah's coconut trees. Lol.

Raya Day 2

On this day, everyone else went to Besut. Gi bowok rombongan Che Kiah mminey ko Abe Mat. Alhamdulillah, Abe Mat was safely engaged that day. Young generations stayed at home. Ore-ore tuo jah gi. Kikikiki. After Zuhur, I went to Farah's house. Yippee! Accompanied by Her Royal Highness Tengku Nur Zahirah alias my Adek. Lol. Did I mention I went on foot? Oh yeah I did. The weather was scorching hot. But it was worthy :) No regrets at all.

Lagu ni lah mok datin gi brayo rumoh saing. Wakakaka. Shawl itu hanyalah hiasan semata-mata. Apa salahnya mak datin nak syok sendiri sekali-sekala kan? ;P

With Kakak and Kakwe, two eldest sis. We just got back from visiting our neighbours. Kidnapped Abe O, the brother in law with us. Teehee.

Ohh, nampaknya bilangan sudah bertambah. The toddler is Baby Zul. Remember him? :D And the one in brown tudung is Awah aka isteri yang bercekak pinggang sewaktu menyambut kepulangan suami dari penculikan sisters. Haha. Abe O and Awah arrived from Seremban that afternoon.

Photography session with Her Royal Highness. Terima kasih kepada Ku Sopiah kerana menangkap gambar ini untuk kami. Muahaha.

Kidnap Baby Zul kejap amek gambar. I was lucky because Baby Zul was in a good mood that time! Woahh, me being lucky is a rare event.

Raya Day 3

This day was Open House day! Lots of food were served on that day. Rugi tau tok maghi. Haha. Ado sate, rendang, kuzi, roti jala, ketupat, custard, oreo cheesecake, makaroni bakar, kek lapis cadbury, kek keladi, kek walnut, spaghetti dan macam-macam lagi! Most of them were homemade. People kept coming and coming non-stop. Same for duit raya. Hakhak. I even had to go to Tesco to shop for things because food was finished! Everyone was so busy that we didn't even remember to take pictures of the food on the table. By the time we remembered, the food was all gone. Aigoo..

Tok sapa separuh pom ado ssini

Some of our cousins came to our house twice sebab ado makaney hok tokdey nok makey. So, diorey balik dulu tunggu wak hok baru pahtu maghi semula. Aduslaa, macey-macey sungguh.

Di kala malam menjelang tiba. We're flat tired!

Alright that's it. I have to go now. I've been in front of the computer longer than I should be.

Talk to you later!

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri

Assalamualaikum.

Oh my dear God, Ramadan has come to its end! How time flies.

Alhamdulillah, this year's Ramadan is very meaningful to me. There are lots of good things that I did for the first time in this holy month. Even though I didn't fast for 30 days, I am still grateful to Him for everything that He had bestowed upon me.

Tahun ni pun murah rezeki. Guess what, my profit from the sale of cookies is around RM800 ! That is twice more than last year's.

Kakwe and Kakak arrived from perantauan yesterday's evening. Yay!

Since tomorrow is Raya, our house is like some kind of bakery. We were baking kek lapis cadbury just now. Projek Mega. Hakhak. I can't wait to taste it! Woot woot~

I'm still not sure what to wear tomorrow. Haihh. No baju raya this year. I'm wearing the same baju that I wore during my sister's wedding. That's what we call saving budget. But I don't really mind. Yeahh seriously.

I can't wait to play firecrackers tonight! Tapi takut jugak sebenarnya. Haihh.

Tomorrow is Raya but I got two pimples on my face!! Shiznit. They better disappear by tomorrow or else...

My homework are still tons. Hope I'll finish them before school reopens. Geezz I hate it when there's still school after Raya. What a nuisance. Pfftt.

Last but not least,

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI
MAAF ZAHIR DAN BATIN

Have a happy Raya everyone. Do forgive me for all my mistakes in the past, present and future.

Ohh I almost forgot, come to my house on 3rd Raya kay! I really really hope someone will turn up this time *sigh* Call me if you wanna ask for the direction! :D

Kek Batik !

Assalamualaikum~

I don't know what has gotten into me, but I felt like baking kek batik out of sudden. Haha because I'm weird like that. On that same day, terus lompat dalam kereta pegi beli biskut marie. Other ingredients are already available at home. Hikhik. Mula-mula nak pegi beli kat kedai runcit berdekatan je. Senang jalan kaki sambil-sambil exercise. Hehee. But Mama wants to go out to buy coconut milk and some other things so I just hopped in the car!

I was feeling soo enthusiastic. Maklumlah, first time nak buat. I'm theoretically good but I've never done it myself using my own hands. Hahaa what a laugh.

So, bila sampai rumah from kedai runcit , terus pegi dapur amek kuali bersaiz XXL letak atas dapur gas. Muahahahaa. Then I start mixing all the ingredients :)

Fuhhh. Penat jugak mengacau non-stop sampai adunan tu pekat. Selama ni tengok Mama or Sisters yang buat macam senang je. I thought it was only like stirring scrambled egg. Tu lahh, lain kali pandang rendah lagi.

Andd tadaa~ here's the outcome :D

But I think I put too much biskut Marie. Hahaa. But it still tastes good ! Boleh buat jadi snack masa tengok The Cave of Golden Rose.

I'm off for now! Gotta go help Adek bake jam-less pineapple tart. Ade ke nak makan tart kosong =.=" Eh, tapi kat rumah ada blueberry jam. Blueberry tart sedap ke eh? xD

See you when I see you!

My Grandad knows Katakana!

Oh yess he does. No kid. Ehh wait a sec, you guys know what Katakana is right? If you don't, please google yourself. I'm not going to waste my time explaining it to you. Time is gold and gold is moneyhhh. Haha.

So here's the story.

On National Day, I went to my grandparents' home across the road. I went to send watermelon to them. Hahaa. After putting the fruit on the table, I sat beside my Tok Ayah and asked him about Perang Jepun. And then he starts narrating his experience.

He told me how he hid from the soldiers, how his teacher chased him and his friends back home because of bomb explosions, how he had to learn Japanese and sang Japan's national anthem while facing the sun. He also told me how the soldiers tortured our people.

Tok ayah said that he memorised a story about a Panglima Jepun. Guess who that panglima is. He's Momotarou! Hahaa oh my God I can't believe this. Don't know who Momotarou is? Again, google. He even recited the story to me! In Japanese! But only a bit laa because he had forgotten most part of it. It has been almost 70 years! On 1941 Tok Ayah was 12 years old and now is already 2010!

Tok ayah still remembers how to write Katakana. He wrote some syllables that he know of like ka, ma, ya, etc etc. Well, Katakana is the easiest between Hiragana and Kanji right ? :D Tok ayah told me that shii ma means island. Onni means monster. I've heard of Onii before in Tsubasa Chronicles. And I know that onni means monster. But I'm not sure whether shii ma really means island. But if Tok Ayah says so, I guess it's right. Haha. Speaking of onii makes me think of onigiri. I wonder when will I have the chance to taste it. Haha. Takoyaki seems delicious too. Why am I talking about food when people are fastingg?? Lols.

My history teacher, Cikgu Fatiah said that Japan had been planning to colonise our country many many years before the actual colonisation. They sent their people to investigate Malaya. They even had the map of Kota Bharu! Tok ayah said Japanese people had been living in our country a long time before 1941. When they went out fishing, they were actually measuring the depths of our river!

Tokwe also shared some of her experience. When the soldiers came to her house, everyone else immediately went to hide but she just stayed. She was taking care of her younger sister, who was only an infant that time. Thank God, she was unscathed. Tokwe said, she's still scared when she hears the sound of aeroplanes because it makes her remember the past. Can you imagine, living in fear and terror? Can you imagine waking up everyday, but not sure whether we'll still have the chance to see the world tomorrow? We are so fortunate aren't we. The moment we open our eyes, this country we're living is already in peace and harmony. So, let's keep it that way shall we? :)

Ohh by the way, Tokwe complimented the way I wear my sarong. Ngee~ She said Sarah wears sarong the wrong way. Dia kilas. Haha. Sarah kantoi~ Hehee sorry Sarah xD I was so flattered y'know! It's not easy to receive compliments from my laser-mouth Tokwe. Hakhak. Yeah, I wore sarong to my grandparent house. Dekat je kan.. It's a stone's throw away literally. Lols.

I hope it's not too late,

Happy Independence Day!

Majlis Khatam al-Quran :)

Assalamualaikum ~

Today was the Khatam al-Quran ceremony. Hikhik. Nothing unusual happened, only the usual things that usually happens on an event like this. Haha, what a twisted sentence xD

First thing that happened in the morning was Solat Sunat Tasbih. But I couldn't join the others because of red flaggg. Argghh.

Majlis start pukul 9 more or less. Mula-mula ada pemberian zakat lepas tu ada kuiz Ramadhan. Menarik jugak kuiz tu. Ada soalan tanya pasal fidyah, pasal puasa sunat, pasal hari-hari haram puasa yadda yadda. 5 soalan semua sekali. Belum sempat Ustaz Rosli nak tutup kuiz lepas tanya soalan terakhir, Ustaz Wos keluar sambil lambai-lambai duit RM10. Hahaa. Ustaz ustaz.. always full of surprises. Ustaz Wos tanya siapa nama sahabat nabi yang disebut dalam al-Quran. Banyak orang try jawab tapi semua salah. Tapi akhirnya, ada jugak orang jawab betul. Jawapan dia : Zain bin Harisah.

Lepas tu start majlis khatam Quran. Oh ya, peserta khatam Quran ni untuk pelajar yang khatam Quran pada bulan Ramadhan dan yang baru first time khatam. Jumlah keseluruhan adalah sebanyak 134 orang. Alhamdulillah :D

Bila dah habis majlis, dapat cenderahati kain sembahyang and pulut kuning. Hehee. Lama la pulak rasanya tak makan pulut kuning.

and the rest is history :)

Me in Opie's kurung. Haha. Tu paper bag berisi kain sembahyang.

See ya!
